How many times does it happen that we forget certain objects of great importance before leaving home?

2017 / Solo Project / Client: Los Patrones / Advisor: Adrián Marfil (MTY), Christian Vivanco (SLP), Gustavo Maggio (ARG)

Challenge:
Design a modern and attractive accessory for the interiors at home, to place everyday objects.

Purpose of the project: Design an accessory or complement for the home. Is sought to be easily produced; through simple and low-cost processes.
Process:
From the research, the objective was to discover the needs and desires of the people.

We interviewed 15 people to understand their lifestyle and to discover pain points.

Through interviews and observation of the natural behavior of users, it was concluded that people leave things in different places in haste, not having a specific space to place small important objects such as receipts, keys, tablets, printed works, plane tickets, etc., and sometimes are forgotten.

Insights:
-
People don't like to see things that they don't order disorderly.
-
There is an emotional bond with objects that provides them feelings of control and creativity.
-
Important objects can be:
-Things that are used frequently.
-Contains important information or elements.
-Are used to achieve something else (job to be done).
Solution:
"Maya" is a simple and light piece that aims to provide a space to arrange your personal items of everyday use, small but important objects of daily use.
Design for those who forget personal stuff when they leave home. Thus creating a link between the user’s belongings and the product, exalting the importance of it. By placing it on the wall you get the ability to place and hang everyday personal objects for your organization by means of its texture.
